Elon Musk denies Ashley St. Clair’s claim that she rejected a $40 million NDA over their relationship and son
Elon Musk has denied Ashley St. Clair’s claim that she was offered a $40 million non-disclosure agreement to remain silent about their relationship.
The billionaire responded on Wednesday, September 9, after TMZ shared St. Clair’s comments on X. Musk denied that he ever made the alleged offer and accused the author of making “false claims”.
St. Clair discussed the alleged $40 million NDA while attending the 2026 Venice Film Festival, where the documentary Musk was presented. Directed by Alex Gibney, the film explores Musk’s life and career and includes St. Clair discussing her relationship with the billionaire.
According to Variety, St. Clair said she rejected the alleged agreement because she wanted to remain free to speak publicly about her relationship with Musk and participate in the documentary.
“I want to set the example for my kids that you should never take being materially comfortable over speaking the truth,” St. Clair said at the festival.
St. Clair previously discussed the alleged NDA during a June appearance on The Don Lemon Show. She said she never signed an agreement with Musk, while claiming that some mutual friends were required to sign paperwork before visiting his home.
Musk and St. Clair share a son, Romulus, and have been involved in a custody dispute.
The dispute over the alleged NDA comes as Musk receives attention at the Venice Film Festival. St. Clair’s participation in the documentary has brought renewed attention to her relationship with Musk and their ongoing legal dispute.
St. Clair has also previously made other claims about Musk, including an alleged comment about having “10,000 lasers in space” to create an “anomaly in the matrix”.
