- Jisoo just released a new single, “Click,” and has three VMA nominations—two through Blackpink and one shared with Zayn Malik for their collaboration.
Jisoo started the month at New York Fashion Week, attending Tommy Hilfiger’s September 10 show. But the singer didn’t step out for the MTV VMAs tonight in Los Angeles.
Jisoo’s new song “Click,” which she released on September 4, is eligible for next year’s ceremony. Her song with Zayn Malik, “Eyes Closed,” is nominated for Best Visual Effects, and Blackpink is up for Best Group and Best K-pop (“Jump”).

Earlier this month, Jisoo spoke to Interview about her next music era and what she hopes her fans take from “Click.”
“I think people will see a little more of my personality and the way I see things,” she said. “I’ve grown since my earlier music, so naturally the way I express myself has changed too. But I don’t want to explain everything. I think it’s more fun if people discover those things themselves.”
She added that her focus right now remains on that project and experimenting. “I want to keep trying things that make me curious,” she said. “Right now I’m really focused on ‘Click’ and sharing this music with everyone, but I don’t want to put a limit on what comes next. We have more tracks to come for the upcoming album, maybe some acting projects in the works, and maybe some things I haven’t even thought about yet. I’ll just keep doing things that make me and my fans excited. And hopefully people will enjoy discovering them with me.”
As for the kind of acting roles she’s seeking after starring in Boyfriend on Demand earlier this year, Jisoo said she’s open. “I have a lot of things I’d like to try, but I don’t really want to decide too specifically yet,” she explained. “I think it’s more exciting when an interesting project comes along and surprises you. I would love to try a character that people wouldn’t expect me to play. Something completely different from what I’ve done before. And maybe something a little scary again. I’m starting to like this dark side [from the ‘Click’ music video].”
