Spider-Noir Is Only 1st of Many Upcoming Spider-Man Projects

Spider-Noir co-showrunner Oren Uziel teased a much larger web of Spider-Man projects quietly taking shape behind the scenes. The show’s co-creator revealed that the Nicolas Cage-led series is only the beginning of an ambitious slate built around placing Spider-Man variants into unexpected genres.

Oren Uziel says several unannounced Spider-Man projects are in works

Spider-Noir co-showrunner Oren Uziel has confirmed multiple unannounced Spider-Man variant projects are currently in development. Uziel shared the update in the new issue of SFX Magazine, hitting newsstands on April 22.

“I’m focused on Spider-Noir, but I know there are others in the works,” Uziel said. He added that he has spoken with the teams behind those projects. “I’ve talked a bit to the people working on them and I think they are very exciting,” he continued.

Uziel did not name any specific projects during his interview. He did, however, describe the creative approach guiding the upcoming slate. “They’re following a little bit of that same formula, that same idea of taking a genre and elevating it by putting a Spider-variant into it,” he explained. “It opens up a whole new world, and it’s just an extremely exciting opportunity.”

Several Spider-Man spin-offs have already entered development at Sony. The studio first announced a Spider-Punk movie in 2025 with Daniel Kaluuya attached. Reports have also linked a Spider-Gwen movie to Sony’s pipeline for some time.

Spider-Noir itself stars Nicolas Cage as a down-on-his-luck private investigator grappling with his past as a superhero called the Spider. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller serve as producers on the show. Uziel clarified that the series does not continue the animated Spider-Verse storyline.

“The character in the show is not the same as the character from both the comics and the animated movie,” he said. “A big part of it was I have seen the high-school story of Peter Parker many times.” He described the live-action version as “a variant of a variant.”

Spider-Noir arrives on Prime Video on May 27.
