In its stead, Samsung will be offering an alternative deal that lets you jump from 256- to 512GB at half the cost of what the upgrade would set you back otherwise. While this does offer some consolation, the value proposition isn’t as strong as what we’ve come to expect from Samsung.
This change shouldn’t be too surprising to anyone who’s been watching industry trends as of late. Apple was the most recent company to draw headlines after increasing its prices across key product lines like the MacBook and iPad ranges, but Samsung wasn’t far behind after raising the cost of its existing foldables.

Android Headlines
Not only are fans having to deal with higher costs for Samsung phones that have already been on the market for quite some time, but there’s a good chance that costs for the upcoming range of foldables could be higher than usual right out of the gate.
In order to keep some ‘affordability’, the standard Z Fold 8, which will feature a more squat design and one less camera on the back, may come in at roughly £1,699/$1,899 (less than the Z Fold 7 at launch), but the Z Fold 8 Ultra, which is a more traditional successor to the Fold 7, could start at £1,899/$2,099.
More leaks
At this point, there isn’t much that we don’t know about Samsung’s upcoming range of phones. The camera and battery details have all leaked, and there are several official renders of these devices now floating around the internet for everyone to see.
The most recent images of the Z series show off previously unseen, online-exclusive colours for the upcoming phones. One such model is the Galaxy Z Fold 8 in Pistachio green (top of page), which, aside from being eye-catching, definitely feels in vogue right now as Google also plans to have several green-tinted options available across its upcoming Pixel 11 range.
