ComingSoon is excited to debut an exclusive Moana special features clip ahead of its digital release on September 8. From the “Move as One” featurette, it focuses on how the film’s dance choreography is rooted in the moon and different animals.
“In our belief system everything was created and then the last creation was man,” says Tiana Nonosina Liufaua, associate producer and choreographer. “This is why we have the ability to mimic everything from the bird … because they soar in the land of the creator of our ancestors.”

How can you own Moana at home?
Disney is also releasing a limited-edition 4K UHD SteelBook for the live-action Moana movie on October 6. The collectible will feature special packaging with Dwayne Johnson as Maui and Catherine Lagaʻaia as Moana on the cover, along with her adorable companions Pua and Heihei.
Fans will also be able to purchase a 3-Movie Collection, which includes the two original animated Moana movies along with the live-action version in digital bundles on September 8 and DVD bundles on October 6.
The physical releases will further include several bonus features such as a behind-the-scenes look at costume designer Liz McGregor’s work and exclusive interviews with the cast and crew.
The featurettes of the live-action Moana available also include sing-alongs with the movie’s beloved soundtrack by Lin-Manuel Miranda, an exclusive introduction to the movie’s cast and production, interviews with the creative team, and many more.
Directed by Thomas Kail, Moana returns to the Polynesian island of Motunui, where Moana, the daughter of Motunui’s chief Tui, must venture off into the vast sea to find and return Te Fiti’s heart. On the way, she meets Maui, who stole the heart in the first place, and the two team up for the grand quest.
In addition to Dwayne Johnson and Catherine Laga’aia as the lead characters, the live-action movie also features Rena Owen, John Tui, Frankie Adams, and Jemaine Clement. Moana originally debuted in theaters on July 10, 2026.
