Mercy health team shares heart health tips at pop out party | News from WLIO

LIMA, OH (WLIO) – Club 129’s “Pop Out Party” series continued Saturday. With Valentine’s Day just passing, the theme focused on heart health and care.

Members of Mercy Health’s cardiology team shared their knowledge on early signs of a heart attack and how exercise plays a key role in heart health. They also provided nutritional tips on how to eat healthy and work around dietary restrictions without sacrificing taste.

“How important it is to talk to your providers, actually follow their advice, take your medications, live a better lifestyle, like one that takes care of your body, you know, eating the right foods and exercise and then also just not being afraid to ask questions when you don’t understand. That’s kind of the point of these events, anyways is to give us easy access to medical professionals in a low pressure situation,” said Carla Thompson, community resource navigator with Mercy Health.

The next event in the Pop Out Party series, focusing on nutrition and healthy eating, will be held March 15 at the Lima Public Library.
