MTR Corporation has announced that Hong Kong’s high-speed rail network will expand to 113 direct destinations from 1 July, following the addition of three new stations.
The new destinations — Guangzhoubei, Yiwu and Fuqingxi — will be added after coordination with mainland railway authorities, extending the reach of the High Speed Rail (Hong Kong Section) network.

The changes will see selected services from Hong Kong West Kowloon Station make additional stops at the new stations.
Services between Hong Kong and Zhangjiajiexi, as well as a service from Tianjin West to Hong Kong, will begin calling at Guangzhoubei Station in Guangzhou’s Huadu District. The station provides connections to Guangzhou’s metro and intercity rail networks and is located near Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.
Meanwhile, overnight services between Hong Kong West Kowloon and Shanghai Hongqiao will add a stop at Yiwu in Zhejiang Province. The city is widely known as a centre for wholesale trade and distribution.
Fuqingxi Station in Fujian Province will also be added to services operating between Hong Kong West Kowloon and Fuzhou. The area is known for several cultural and natural attractions, including Lingshi Mountain National Forest Park and the remains of the Southern Shaolin Temple.
Tickets for the new services are on sale from 17 June.
Alongside the network expansion, MTR has introduced Quiet Cars on all of its Vibrant Express services operating between Hong Kong West Kowloon and Guangzhounan.
Additional services are also being planned to accommodate increased passenger demand during the Tuen Ng Festival holiday period. From 18 June, East Rail Line services will operate at higher frequencies during selected morning and evening periods over four consecutive days. Trains to Lok Ma Chau Station will run approximately every eight minutes during designated periods, compared with the usual ten-minute interval.
High-speed rail services will also be strengthened on 19 and 21 June. An additional 11 pairs of trains will operate between Hong Kong West Kowloon and Futian stations on the festival day, while an extra pair of sleeper services will run between Hong Kong and Beijing West on 18 June.
