Netflix is always updating with new movies for fans to watch. As we head into the summer, here’s a look at the best Netflix movies arriving this week, including a beloved Hugh Jackman movie.

Song Sung Blue – June 13, 2026
Perhaps the biggest movie coming to Netflix this week is 2025’s Song Sung Blue, starring Hugh Jackman. The movie is based on the award-winning 2008 documentary, and follows the story of real-life musicians Mike and Claire Sardina, who performed together under the name Lightning & Thunder, acting as a Neil Diamond tribute band.
Alongside Jackman, Song Sung Blue also stars Kate Hudson, Michael Imperioli, Ella Anderson, King Princess, Mustafa Shakir, Hudson Hensley, Fisher Stevens, and Jim Belushi. Song Sung Blue is written and directed by Craig Brewer.
The movie earned acclaim after its release, and earned Hudson an Oscar nomination for her role in the movie.
Sesame Street: Volume 3 – June 8
Sesame Street is back, and this time on Netflix! The third volume of the new era of the iconic children’s show, dubbed Volume 3, is available now on Netflix. The new batch of episodes technically constitutes the last batch of episodes of the 56th season of the long-running show, but is being called Volume 3 for simplicity’s sake.
The new volume consists of five new episodes, and once again will focus on the adventures of the residents of Sesame Street. For folks with children looking to check out the new episodes, they can be found on the platform now, as part of Netflix’s Netflix Jr. subsection of content.
Piece by Piece – June 14
Originally released in 2024, Piece by Piece tells the story of superstar Pharrell Williams, as told via the world of LEGO. The movie follows Pharrell’s life, from his upbringing in Virginia Beach to becoming a mega star in the world of music, fashion, and more.
The film is directed by Neville from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jason Zeldes, Aaron Wickenden, and Oscar Vazquez. Besides Williams, the ensemble cast also includes Neville, Gwen Stefani, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg, Missy Elliott, Tyler the Creator, Daft Punk, Teddy Riley, and more as they appear in LEGO form.
Following its release, the movie earned acclaim, with many praising the creative nature of telling a biographical story via LEGO. The movie is set to arrive on the platform on June 14, 2026.
Maternal Instinct – June 12
Netflix is back with another true crime documentary. Maternal Instinct is directed by Jessica Dimmock, and covers the heartbreaking story of the murder of Reagan Michelle Simmons-Hancock. The documentary is set to air on June 12, and dives into the tragic circumstances surrounding the case, as well as the aftermath.
“In a small East Texas town, a young woman from a wealthy family falls for a local hog trapper. Their relationship appears perfect and within months she’s pregnant and proudly showing off her baby bump all over social media. But when a state trooper pulls her over and discovers she has just given birth in her car, her story quickly falls apart, exposing the truth behind a terrifying and unthinkable crime,” reads the documentary’s synopsis.
Joshua Levine, Samantha DeMaria, and Jon Bardin are producers on the film.
Shrill (Seasons 1-3) – June 8
Finally, our last big addition is also already on the platform beginning today. As part of its continued effort to expand its TV options, Netflix is licensing Shrill, the Hulu comedy starring SNL alum Aidy Bryant, to its platform. The show’s three seasons are available to watch the hit comedy now. Originally, Shrill ran from 2019-2021, so this gives fans the chance to check out the comedy all over again.
“Annie is a full-figured woman who wants to change her life, but not her body; she is trying to start her career while juggling bad boyfriends, a sick parent, and a perfectionist boss,” reads the official synopsis.
The ensemble cast included Bryant as Annie, Lolly Adefope as Fran, Luka Jones as Ryan, John Cameron Mitchell as Gabe Parrish, Ian Owens as Amadi, Patti Harrison as Ruthie, Julia Sweeney as Vera Easton, Daniel Stern as Bill Easton, Cameron Britton as Will Nolan, Fred Armisen as Bongo, and more.
