On a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the host said that Logan Airport is searching for a new voice for its public announcements and is specifically looking for someone who can capture the distinctive Boston sound. He noted that the American actor and filmmaker would be familiar with the airport as a Boston native.
Affleck liked the idea, as Kimmel shared that the management is accepting auditions on tape, so the host handed the script to Affleck to begin his audition right there. Kimmel told Affleck that reading the script could land him a new gig. The former Batman star finished reading the script, and the host offered him some “constructive feedback.”
Kimmel hilariously called the audition “terrible” and pointed out issues with the script and added that Affleck sounded like somebody who had been living in LA for 30 years. Affleck decided to come up with a “real Boston” voice and borrowed a hat from someone in the audience.
The Oscar winner then redid the audition and left the audience in stitches. Kimmel asked whether Affleck was done, and he replied, “I thought that was appropriate; was that a little much?” The host responded that he couldn’t imagine the actor not getting the role. “I might fly to Boston to just hear that announcement,” he quipped.
