Dakota Johnson opened up about her recent collaboration with Taylor Swift, in which she is set to appear in the “Patient Zero” music video. A 13-second sneak peek was recently shared, confirming her casting. During the London premiere, Johnson expressed her gratitude for getting to work with Swift, whom she has been friends with for a long time.

In a recent conversation at the premiere for Johnson’s new film, Verity, the actress described the opportunity to work with Swift as “fun” and said she and the pop icon have known each other for a long time. “We respect each other’s creative minds, and to be able to work alongside her and support and assist and be a person whom she tells what to do is wonderful,” she added.
During an interview on an episode of Ambar Lee and Leah Briars’ Fangirl Nation podcast, Johnson revealed that she and Swift are very close and decided to collaborate. The actress joked that she would usually advise against working with friends, but said the two of them collaborated quite well. “We just had the best time.”
“Patient Zero” is a single from the deluxe edition of The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore (2026), which was released on September 25. Swift took to Instagram to announce the song’s release two days ahead of its debut and shared a picture of herself standing sideways and looking directly into the camera, wearing a black dress, brunette bangs, and orange lipstick. The full music video will be released on September 27 at 7.30 p.m. ET during the VMAs.
Meanwhile, Johnson’s Verity is set to be released on October 2, 2026. Based on the novel of the same name by Colleen Hoover, the film also stars Anne Hathaway and Josh Hartnett in key roles.
