Bayern Munich youngster Erblin Osmani opts for Kosovo over Germany?

Jürgen Klopp will soon be making a decision on his first ever squad for the national team ahead of Germany’s Nations League matches in the upcoming international window. While there has been plenty of speculation already on who might be called up, there has been other news on a player who might decide on his national team in the coming days.

According to reports from Bild, Bayern Munich youngster Erblin Osmani has been passport of the Republic of Kosovo by Dr. Faruk Ajeti, who posted on Instagram that Osmani will play for Kosovo, as captured by @iMiaSanMia. While Osmani has not yet confirmed his decision, this clouds the certainty around his decision. Should Osmani decide on Kosovo, we could see him called up in the September window.

While it is unlikely that Klopp has any radar on Osmani yet, the 17-year-old might one day blossom into a top talent. Osmani certainly has guaranteed playtime in the future with Kosovo, something that Germany can’t always promise.

With all the dual nationals in recent years, it would hurt to see another young talent opt for another country rather than Germany, this is certainly a decision that seems fairly reasonable for Osmani to make in his circumstances. Should he not be called up in September though, it certainly could open the door for a Germany call-up in the coming years.
