Alex Wolff is returning to the big screen with another R-rated Paramount Primal comedy project. While Wolff will be leading the show, he will be accompanied by an ensemble cast.
The 28-year-old Oppenheimer and Almost Friday star will be working as the lead character for Boys for Life. The film is expected to hit the theaters on April 9, 2027. The story of the film would reportedly revolve around a group of friends, per Variety. Not much about the plot has been revealed yet.
Alongside Wolff, Boys for Life will star Will Angus, Eilise Patton, Billy Langdon, Liam Cullagh, and Chester Collins.
Tyler Falbo will be directing the film. Before this, he was one of the key figures behind the comedy sketch group created by Almost Friday Media. Falbo will be working as the main creative leader and showrunner for Boys for Life. Collaborating with Almost Friday co-founder Max Barrett, Falbo constructed the script for the movie. Furthermore, he is also the producer of the project alongside Galen Core.
What to know about the Paramount movie’s primal comedy premise
Boys for Life is a part of the Paramount Primal lineup. Paramount Primal is a new label under Paramount. It is being led by J.D. Lifshitz and Raphael Margules. Lifshitz and Margules have previously produced movies such as Weapons, Friendship, and Companion.
Per Variety, Paramount Primal will be concentrating on movies demanding a reasonable budget. Alongside experienced directors, the new studio division is also ready to work with new creators. The label will primarily focus on genres ranging from horror, comedy, action, and realistic science fiction stories.
In the recent past, Paramount Primal acquired the U.S. rights to make a new version of A Nightmare on Elm Street. Following that, J.D. Lifshitz and Raphael Margules stated, per The Hollywood Reporter, “We can’t remember a time before we were fans of Wes Craven. The fact that Iya and Jonathan have entrusted us with this opportunity to help usher a new story into this world is an honor beyond words. We look forward to working alongside them to bring a terrifying new nightmare to audiences everywhere, and to welcome Freddy home.”
