DYERSVILLE, Iowa — Iowa’s Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig visited Northeast Iowa, exploring agribusinesses and conservation projects in Delaware, Dubuque, and Jackson counties.
In the afternoon, Naig stopped at FarmTek in Dyersville. He toured the facility and met with company leaders and employees. During the visit, he discussed the recent trade agreement between the Trump administration and China, highlighting its positive impact on Iowa farmers.
“Farmers are still facing significant pressure when it comes to profitability,” Naig said. “That is both testament to the high input prices that farmers are facing, but also prices not being where we want them to be for corn and soybean broadly.”
Naig emphasized the need to address inflated input prices and to find more markets for Iowa’s agricultural products.
Naig also mentioned his upcoming trade mission to Vietnam and Indonesia, which begins on Friday. The mission aims to open more markets for Iowa farmers.
