In summary
- One UI 8 is coming to older phones
- Flip 5, Fold 5, and Galaxy S23 included
- Samsung tablets also starting to get it
Samsung’s latest One UI 8 software has finally started rocking up on some of Samsung’s older smartphones and tablets.
The company’s travails getting its Android 16-based UI to market have been well documented. After debuting on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 on 25 July, it took almost two months for the flagship Samsung Galaxy S25 series to commence a wider rollout.
Thankfully, the rollout is now well under way, and it now seems to be the turn of a whole bunch of older Samsung Galaxy phones to receive One UI 8.

One UI 8 rollout
It seems the 2024 and 2023 Galaxy crowd are now receiving their One UI 8 medicine. Over on the Samsung Korea community page, a post points out that an official update is now rolling out to the Galaxy S23, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and Galaxy Z Fold 5.
It’s not available in all countries just yet – for Fold/Flip 5 owners, in particular, it seems to only be reaching South Korean beta programme members for now – but the ball is undoubtedly rolling on Samsung’s latest software.
Don’t think that this is confined to Samsung’s older flagship phones, either. That same Samsung Korea forum recently spotted that the Samsung Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 are receiving their own One UI 8 updates. Those are Samsung’s main budget phone options from early last year.
Elsewhere, Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+ users are reporting that they’re getting the One UI 8 treatment, making it the first Samsung tablet to get the update. The brand new Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 and Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra both run it out of the box, as you’d expect.
