Samsung Jumps 3.3% Despite China's New DRAM Production Milestone — TradingView News

Samsung Electronics (SSNLF), the memory-chip and smartphone maker, rose 3.25% to ?285,500 in Seoul even as a new Chinese rival pushed further into mobile memory. CXMT says its fifth-generation DRAM platform and two 24-gigabit LPDDR5X products are now in mass production. The threat is clear. The size of it is harder to judge.

CXMT says each new chip holds 50% more data than its comparable predecessor, while the platform produces at least 50% more dies per wafer. That could give phone makers another source of low-power memory and put pressure on Samsung’s chip prices. Reuters identified Samsung, SK Hynix SKHY and Micron MU as the established suppliers facing this challenge.

There is a twist for Samsung: cheaper memory could also benefit its smartphone business, even if rival handset makers gain the same advantage. The picture shows a GF Score of 84/100, with growth and financial strength standing out while GF Value trails the other measures. Investors have a strong business to assess, but CXMT’s announcement alone does not establish how much share it can take. CXMT has not disclosed production yields or shipment volumes.
