Ben 10 fans may finally have a reason to look forward to the franchise’s return. A recent update from Cartoon Network Studios President Sam Register has suggested that new projects based on the long-running animated series are already in development. While no official announcement has been made, the comments have fueled fresh anticipation among fans.
New Ben 10 series gets a strong hint from Cartoon Network Studios President
A new update from Warner Bros. Animation has given Ben 10 fans fresh reason to believe the franchise is preparing for a return. While the studio has not officially announced a new series, comments from Cartoon Network Studios President Sam Register suggest that plans for the property are already well underway.
During an interview with The Wrap, Register revealed that the studio is working on new Ben 10 “iterations.” His choice of words immediately drew attention, as it suggested that the company is not reviving the series with a single reboot. Instead, they maybe exploring multiple directions for the property.
Register also shared a recent encounter that highlighted the series’ popularity. He recalled an employee approaching him and saying, “I grew up on ‘Ben 10,’” before expressing surprise that Register had worked on the original series and would also be involved with its future. According to Register, though, “it happens all the time.”
The timing of those remarks has only added to the speculation. Ben 10 is scheduled to return to San Diego Comic-Con this week for its first franchise panel since 2018, leading many fans to believe an official announcement could be around the corner. However, as of now, Warner Bros. Animation has not confirmed that a new series will be unveiled at the event.
Originally launched on Cartoon Network in 2005, Ben 10 expanded into several follow-up series. These include Ben 10: Alien Force, Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, and Ben 10: Omniverse. A reboot of the series followed in 2016.
