TULSA, Okla. — Dating in the digital age can be tough, but a local relationship coach is offering a new way for Tulsa-area singles to ditch their screens and connect in person.
Jaimee Anderson, known locally as Tulsa’s relationship coach and singles guru, has officially launched Undivided & Unwavered: A Singles Ministry Initiative as a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Anderson said she created the nonprofit after leading local singles groups and seeing a growing desire from people wanting to step out of their comfort zones and build meaningful connections offline.
“I had people that were coming who didn’t belong to the church,” Anderson shared. “Somebody drove from Arkansas because they just wanted community so bad and so through that, I saw the need that helped them develop their relationship with God, themselves and others.”
To address online dating fatigue, Anderson developed a nine-week curriculum-based program designed to give participants practical tools for building healthy relationships.
However, she acknowledges that encouraging people to meet face-to-face in today’s digital environment can be a challenge.
“We as a society have come to an instant gratification culture where we don’t want to work as hard for things. We don’t get out in things that make us uncomfortable. Getting out and trying new things and getting yourself plugged in is something that isn’t being done enough.”
The nine-week course is open to any unmarried adult, ages 18 and older, and childcare will be provided onsite.
“It’s all about improving your relationship with God, improving your relationship with yourself, so that you can show up better for those in your life and those that you have a relationship with.”
The program kicks off on Sunday, Sept. 13 at Battle Creek Church in Broken Arrow, running weekly from 6:15 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
While the class is completely free to attend, registration is capped at 50 participants and spots are filling up quickly.
