- Travis Kelce was spotted landing at the newly named President Donald J. Trump International Airport on July 12 with a dog rumored to belong to Kelce and wife Taylor Swift.
- Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.
- Trump has said that he hates Taylor Swift and called her a terrific person.
President Donald Trump was excited to see Travis Kelce and a dog possibly belonging to him and his new wife Taylor Swift land at the newly named Florida airport.
The Palm Beach International Airport officially became the President Donald J. Trump International Airport on July 9, and the Trump family plane was the first to land.
Photos by the website TMZ and the New York Post’s Page Six show Kelce carrying the pooch off Swift’s private jet on July 12. Kelce gathered luggage from the plane while the dog, believed to be a Samoyed, followed him down the stairs.
Trump posted the headline of an article from The Palm Beach Post, part of the USA TODAY Network, with the caption, “So cool!!!” on Truth Social on July 15. But Trump hasn’t always been a Swiftie. In fact, they’ve had a somewhat tumultuous past.
Trump has said he hates Taylor Swift and thinks she’s a ‘terrific person’
Before Swift made her voting intentions for the 2024 election public, Trump apparently tried to win her over.
“I like her boyfriend, Travis, even though he may be a Liberal, and probably can’t stand me!” he said in Feb. 2024 ahead of the Kansas City Chiefs’ win in the Super Bowl LVIII.
Later that year, Swift endorsed the Democratic nominee for president, former Vice President Kamala Harris. Harris had a historically short campaign after stepping in for former President Joe Biden following his disastrous debate with Trump earlier in the summer.
“(Harris) fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,” Swift said in a post, which took a subtle jab at now Vice President JD Vance‘s viral comments about “childless cat ladies.”
“I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos,” Swift’s post continued.
Days later, Trump took to Truth Social to declare “I hate Taylor Swift,” though his campaign leaned into the clash by selling T-shirts with a similar design to the Taylor Swift Eras Tour merchandise, only with Trump’s face on it.
Trump also claimed in May 2025 that “she’s no longer HOT” since he said he hated her and said again he hated her earlier this month amid the American Eagle ad controversy with actress Sydney Sweeney.
But when she got engaged to Kelce in August 2025, Trump had nothing but good things to say.
“Well, I wish them a lot of luck. I think he’s a great player, a great guy. I think she’s a terrific person,” he said in an August 2025 Cabinet meeting when asked by a reporter “So, I wish them a lot of luck.”
Why is Trump excited about Taylor Swift’s alleged dog?
Well, likely it isn’t the dog but the airport the dog landed at.
The airport in Palm Beach, where Trump usually flies into when he heads to Mar-a-Lago for the weekend, officially became the President Donald J. Trump International Airport on July 9 and his sons were on the first flight to land under the airport’s new name. The change was prompted by legislation signed earlier this year by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Passengers on the Trump plane dubbed “Trump Force One” were celebrating after its inaugural touchdown shortly after 5 a.m., clapping and embracing as they stepped onto the tarmac. Eric Trump, Donald Trump Jr. and his new wife Bettina Trump, formerly Anderson, gathered with other local officials who took the inaugural ride out of the airport.
Did Taylor Swift land at Donald J. Trump airport?
Swift did not appear in the photos reported by TMZ and Page Six.
Neither Kelce nor Swift, famously a cat person, has confirmed they own a dog. Speculation began in March, when video surfaced online showing a similar white dog stepping out of a car alongside Swift’s security team in New York City.
The airport sighting comes nine days after Swift and Kelce married at Madison Square Garden in New York. The couple honeymooned briefly in Montana, then flew to Southern California on July 9 to attend NFL player JuJu Smith-Schuster’s wedding in Orange County on July 11.
Celebrity flight trackers suggest Swift’s Falcon 7X flew to West Palm Beach from Burbank, California, the following day, before departing again to Morristown, New Jersey. While Kelce’s appearance at the airport raised the possibility of a Palm Beach-leg of their honeymoon, no other sightings in the area have been reported.
A multimillion-dollar mansion Kelce rented at the Royal Palm Yacht and Country Club in Boca Raton served as the couple’s South Florida home base last summer.
“This was our Florida summer, one hell of a drug,” Swift said last year on Kelce’s podcast, referencing her song “Florida!!!”
“We really Florida’d it up.”
