- The Palm Beach International Airport is now named after President Trump.
- The same day the airport change went into effect, a bridge was also renamed after Trump.
- He has had several things named after him by public officials.
A Florida airport and a Tennessee bridge both bore a new name on July 9: President Donald J. Trump.
The airport in Palm Beach, where Trump usually flies into when he heads to Mar-a-Lago for the weekend, officially became the President Donald J. Trump International Airport and his sons were on the first flight to land under the airport’s new name. Hours later, different members of Trump’s family appeared in Knoxville, Tennessee for a bridge renaming ceremony.
Trump called the new airport renaming a “great honor.”
“The Area is HOT, the Location is GREAT, and the Renovation will be SPECTACULAR. Thank you to all in Palm Beach for your Vote and your Confidence,” Trump said in a Truth Social post. “This will soon be one of the Greatest and Most Spectacular Airports anywhere in the World!”
Trump has put his branding on lots of things, and lawmakers have moved to do the same. See what else his name has apppeared on.
Trump gets Tennessee bridge named after him
Later in the day and a few states north, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent went to Dandridge, Tennessee, near Knoxville, for a bridge renaming ceremony.
Tennessee and federal leaders joined Trump family members July 9 to unveil the renamed Interstate 40 bridge over the French Broad River, and leaders took the opportunity before the midterm elections to praise the president’s work for Tennesseans. It now bears the name, “President Donald J Trump Bridge.”
“There is no one more deserving of it than Donald J. Trump,” Bessent said at the roadside ceremony. “From this day forward, every driver that encounters this bridge will see it bears his name because he never stopped fighting for the people who travel on it.”
Trump’s sister Elizabeth and sister-in-law Ann Marie represented the president, who sent “45-47” hats from the White House gift shop to hand out to attendees.
New signs honoring the president were placed on either side of the bridge, which crosses the French Broad River in Dandridge with the Great Smoky Mountains in the background. The Tennessee Department of Transportation is rebuilding the bridge, and the project should be finished by September 2029.
At the ceremony, Bessent touted other programs that bear Trump’s name, including Trump Accounts.
Eric Trump, Donald Trump Jr., on first flight at newly named Trump airport
The Trump private plane was the first to land at the Palm Beach, Florida airport, now named the President Donald J. Trump International Airport.
The change, prompted by legislation signed earlier this year by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, officially went into effect on July 9.
Passengers on the Trump plane dubbed “Trump Force One” were celebrating after it touched down shortly after 5 a.m., clapping and embracing as they stepped onto the tarmac. Eric Trump, Donald Trump Jr. and his new wife Bettina Trump, formerly Anderson, gathered with other local officials who took the inaugural ride out of the airport.
The United Parcel Service is usually the first each day, Eric Trump told The Palm Beach Post, part of the USA TODAY Network. But it was important to him that the president’s private plane be “the first wheels to touch down.”
Inside the plane, he said he first flew through the airport as an infant in 1984, and that his family flew in and out nearly every weekend in the years after his father bought Mar-a-Lago the following year.
“There’s probably no one that’s flown into this airport more times than Donald Trump,” Eric Trump told The Post. “I think he deserves this honor.”
As president, Trump has made more than 60 trips to Palm Beach over his two non-consecutive terms. His airport arrivals and departures on those trips, especially early in his first administration, drew media attention and coverage. National outlets covered Air Force One’s landings and take-offs, putting the airport in front of millions of viewers.
What else has been named after Trump?
The U.S. government has also put Trump’s name and picture on these other things:
- The Treasury Department in October 2025 announced it was considering a commemorative $1 coin bearing Trump’s face as part of its coins to celebrate America’s 250th birthday. Federal law prohibits putting a living person on U.S. currency.
- Some of the National Park Service’s 2026 annual “America the Beautiful” pass designs bear Trump’s portrait next to George Washington’s.
- The Trump administration renamed the U.S. Institute of Peace after Trump. The State Department posted a picture on Dec. 3, 2025, showing the building with “Donald J. Trump” in silver lettering above the engraved “United States Institute of Peace.”
- Trump accounts – As part of the Republicans’ tax plan passed in July 2025, babies born between Jan. 1, 2025, and Dec. 31, 2028, will receive a $1,000 contribution to a savings account that will grow with the stock market. The program was once known as the “MAGA accounts” but was renamed to “Trump accounts” during the legislative process.
- Trump’s name was also temporarily added to the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. but was removed June 13 on a judge’s order. Trump is appealing the decision.
