The Batman 2 cast continues to grow, with Matt Reeves once again taking to social media and revealing some major casting announcements for the highly anticipated DC movie.
Who has joined The Batman 2 cast?
As he did yesterday, Reeves has been taking to social media all day to confirm and reveal casting information for the upcoming movie. He’s been doing so with a number of different GIFs, each showcasing an actor for the movie. So far, he’s just been confirming previous reported casting, but today, he revealed two new stars coming to the movie.
In his most recent post, Reeves revealed that Brian Tyree Henry would be appearing in the movie. Reeves’ post welcomed him to the party, along with a GIF of what looks to be Henry in the FX series Atlanta. Henry has starred in a number of big movies, including in the MCU as Phastos in Eternals. Just who he’ll play in The Batman’s sequel, though, is unknown.
Reeves also revealed that Homeland star Sebastian Koch would be appearing in the film in some capacity. Reeves shared a GIF of Koch, with his caption for the post hinting that Koch could potentially be joining the movie as a member of the Gotham City Police Department. Like most of The Batman: Part II, though, just what Koch’s role will be is unknown.
Outside of the two reveals, Reeves also confirmed a number of previously reported on casting, including Charles Dance, Sebastian Stan, and Scarlett Johansson’s appearances in the movie. Reeves’ latest post was just a few minutes ago, too, so he may not be done revealing some new casting just yet.
Robert Pattinson will reprise his role as Batman in the movie, with other cast members from the original film also returning, including Colin Farrell’s Oz Cobb/The Penguin, Andy Serkis as Alfred, and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, are likely to return for the sequel. Newcomers to the movie include Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Charles Dance, Sebastian Koch, and Brian Tyree Henry.
Co-written by Reeves and Mattson Tomlin, The Batman 2 is expected to see Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell reprise their respective roles as Jim Gordon, Alfred Pennyworth, and the Penguin. Zoe Kravitz, meanwhile, is not expected to return as Catwoman/Selina Kyle. Production on the film begins this coming spring.
The Batman 2 will be released in the United States on October 1, 2027.
