如果有一天,我的學生被我發現交出來的功課原來搵人做,但向我解釋裏面的概念是他「原創」的,只不過做功課的人不是他本人、是他請人替他做而已,那聽起來有沒有不妥? 又或我們學者要出研究論文,我只提供「原創」的研究概念,然後搵人從頭到尾幫我寫,但刊登論文的時候就出我自己的名字,亦無提及整個研究的執行,其實是出自他人之手,被人踢爆後,我一味强調idea是原創的,還大言不慚地說:「概念是我的,只是文字別人代筆罷了!」那有沒有問題?日後的學術誠信還能否站得住腳? 有些事,是基於很根本的道德常理認知,例如學生交功課當然是假設出自其人手筆,學者出論文當然是假設不會抄襲、不會假手於人,若這麼根本的認知也欠缺的話,是有問題的,即使一味強調擁有「原創」概念。 有一句說話,道出重點來:「Ideas are cheap, execution is everything」。 誰沒有idea?誰不曉得原創?有能力者,是能把腦袋裏面的概念執行出來。學術界的基本倫理是:不僅概念要原創,執行也必須透明誠實。若按此邏輯,所有學生都可以僱人寫論文,然後理直氣壯地說:「想法是我的。」–那學術還有何誠信可言? 有dignity(尊嚴)和Integrity(誠信)才能有資格獲得尊重,這不僅是求學問的態度,也是做人處事的基本原則,開學伊始,與學子共勉。 撰文 : 利嘉敏 欄名 : 攻關女子 Source link
