Sydney Sweeney returned home for a reason far bigger than Hollywood: to help her wildfire-ravaged hometown. As devastating wildfires swept through the Spokane area, the actress quietly joined relief efforts, helping displaced families. Her own relatives also felt the impact of the disaster.
Sydney Sweeney and Scooter Braun volunteer amid Spokane wildfires
Instead of making headlines from a movie set, this time Sweeney was in the headlines for spending her time serving meals and supporting wildfire victims in her hometown. According to TMZ, the actress traveled to Washington with her boyfriend, while music executive Scooter Braun also joined volunteer efforts. Together they helped communities hit hard by the Spokane-area wildfires.
TMZ reported that Sweeney is working side by side with Second Harvest Food Bank and World Central Kitchen. She is delivering food to firefighters between shifts and helping prepare and distribute meals for families forced from their homes. She also reportedly purchased groceries, coordinated with local restaurants to secure food and temporary shelter, and donated to multiple relief organizations assisting recovery efforts.
The visit was deeply personal for Sweeney. In one of her stories, she described Spokane as the place she’ll always call home, saying it’s where she was raised and where many of her family members and close friends still live. She shared that the wildfires had impacted countless people, including her own relatives, and urged her followers to support relief efforts as the community works to recover and rebuild.
The actress’s quiet arrival quickly caught attention online after residents shared videos of her serving meals. One widely circulated post on X praised her, writing, “AWESOME! Sydney Sweeney… didn’t announce she was coming. She just showed up.”
Another post said she was “handing out free meals” at the Women and Children’s Free Restaurant and Community Kitchen for people affected by the Spokane Area Complex fires. The wildfires have burned more than 10,000 acres, destroyed hundreds of structures and displaced tens of thousands of residents.
Sweeney is one of Hollywood’s fastest-rising stars through projects including Euphoria, The White Lotus, Anyone But You and Immaculate. She has earned two Primetime Emmy nominations for her television performances.
