One of Sony Pictures’ highly rated thrillers starring Storm Reid and Nia Long has found a new streaming home. This comes more than three years after the movie was released in theaters, where it grossed around $48 million at the box office.
What Storm Reid and Nia Long movie is now on Prime Video?
Beginning today, 2023’s screenlife mystery thriller film Missing is officially available to stream on Prime Video. The story takes place in the same universe as John Cho’s 2018 movie Searching. In the movie, Reid played a teenage girl whose single mother suddenly goes missing after going on a vacation. Since its debut, the movie has received a Certified Fresh score of 89% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 148 reviews.
“When her mother disappears while on vacation in Colombia with her new boyfriend, June’s search for answers is hindered by international red tape. Stuck thousands of miles away in Los Angeles, June creatively uses all the latest technology at her fingertips to try to find her before it’s too late,” reads the official synopsis. “But as she digs deeper, her digital sleuthing raises more questions than answers… and when June unravels secrets about her mom, she discovers that she never really knew her at all.”
The movie was directed by Nick Johnson and Will Merrick, who co-wrote the screenplay based on a story by Sev Ohanian and Aneesh Chaganty. The ensemble cast also included Ken Leung, Megan Suri, Amy Landecker, Lisa Yamada, Sharar Ali-Speakes, Daniel Henney, Jameel Shivji, Michael Segovia, Tracy Vilar, Joaquim de Almeida, and more. The creative team consisted of director of photography Steven Holleran, director of virtual photography Arielle Zakowski, and composer Julian Scherle, with Zakowski also serving as editor alongside Austin Keeling.
