Only Murders in the Building Season 6 has finally received an update from co-creator and actor Steve Martin. The mystery-comedy series was renewed for a sixth season after the Season 5 finale last year. Apart from Martin, it features talents like Martin Short, Selena Gomez, Meryl Streep, and more.
Only Murders in the Building Season 6 starts production
Season 6 of the popular Hulu series has finally entered production. The update was shared on the show’s social media page.
The official Instagram account for Only Murders in the Building shared an image featuring co-creators Steve Martin and John Hoffman, along with the cast members. The caption stated, “Season 6 Day 1!”
Additionally, Martin, who plays Charles Haden Savage, shared an image on Instagram to mark the start of filming. In the post, he can be seen next to his co-stars, Selena Gomez, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, and Martin Short. He wrote in the caption, “OMITB hits London! What a ball to be here and to stroll along the Seine.”
After the Season 5 finale aired on Hulu in October 2025, the makers announced that Season 6 would arrive soon.
While speaking to TV Insider about what the upcoming season holds in store for fans, John Hoffman said, “I can only tease that — I won’t say whether or not there will be a murder at the end of this season, but if there were, I think there’s an opportunity for more surprise that we will look to shake things up in a potential next go. Nothing is at its end.”
Hoffman also expressed his thoughts on the show’s future, stating that Only Murders in the Building can go on for a long time. He added, “There’s always been, from the moment we started making the show, of course, there’s the stretch of credulity, how long can this thing go on? But it’s been very sweet because I have recognized just when you think, ‘Well, I don’t know how to make it fresh anymore,’ some new thought or some new idea in the room comes up.”
