Schitt’s Creek Finds New Streaming Home After Catherine O’Hara’s Death

Schitt’s Creek has found a new streaming home. The news comes one week after star Catherine O’Hara died at the age of 71.

All six seasons of Schitt’s Creek will be available to stream in their entirety on HBO Max in the U.S. on February 7, 2026.

“The beloved comedy follows rich video-store magnate Johnny Rose, his soap-star wife Moira, and their two kids, son David and socialite daughter Alexis,” the official synopsis reads. “When they lose their fortune and suddenly find themselves broke, they are forced to leave their pampered lifestyle behind and regroup in the quirky small town of Schitt’s Creek.”

Schitt’s Creek starred O’Hara as Moira Rose, Eugene Levy as Johnny Rose, Dan Levy as David Rose, Annie Murphy as Alexis Rose, Emily Hampshire as Stevie Budd, Chris Elliott as Roland Schitt, Jennifer Robertson as Jocelyn Schitt, Noah Reid as Patrick Brewer, Tim Rozon as Mutt Schitt, and Dustin Milligan as Ted Mullens.

Dan and Eugene Levy created Schitt’s Creek, which originally aired on CBC Television in Canada and Pop TV in the U.S. Schitt’s Creek ran for six seasons from 2015 through 2020.

The comedy garnered significant critical acclaim, especially for the sixth and final season. Schitt’s Creek Season 6 received 15 Emmy nominations, winning nine, including the seven major comedy awards: Comedy Series, Lead Actor (Eugene Levy), Lead Actress (O’Hara), Supporting Actor (Dan Levy), Supporting Actress (Murphy), Writing (Dan Levy), and Directing (Dan Levy and Andrew Cividino).

On January 30, 2026, O’Hara passed away after a brief illness. O’Hara’s death sparked several tributes from her co-stars, including Macaulay Culkin, who worked with the actress on Home Alone. “I heard you. But I had so much more to say,” Culkin wrote on Instagram. “I love you. I’ll see you later.”
