The fifth edition of the Andhra Premier League is set to take centre stage in 2026, with the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) once again overseeing the state’s flagship T20 franchise competition.
Seven teams, three cities and 32 matches will shape the fifth season of the Andhra Premier League, which gets underway on June 9 and runs through to June 30.
Tungabhadra Warriors are the defending champions of the Andhra Premier League. They earned their maiden title after beating Amaravati Royals in the finals by 5 wickets.
The tournament has steadily grown into one of the state’s most important talent showcases. This year’s list of captains highlights the tournament’s appeal, with former India Test players Hanuma Vihari and KS Bharat joined by current national team all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy at the helm of their respective sides.
A total of 28 games will determine the league standings, with all seven teams scheduled to play eight matches apiece. Once the standings are finalised, the competition moves into an IPL-inspired playoff format, culminating in Qualifier 1, the Eliminator, Qualifier 2 and the final, all of which will be held in Mangalagiri.
