Samsung’s release of One UI 8.5 software for the S26 series happened months ago, but the millions of Samsung users with S25 series phones are still waiting. A new leak suggest that the wait is almost over and will bring the AirDrop compatibility with iPhones to millions of additional devices.
One UI 8.5 Beta Nearing Completion
The One UI 8.5 software is still in beta for S25 users — it’s currently on the tenth beta, so Samsung is refining the build until the software is stable and finished.
However, a recent post on X has revealed that the changelog for the S25 series has been seen, with details of what’s coming.
“Galaxy S25 Series One UI 8.5 Stable changelog has been spotted… We’re close to the official rollout now,” the post from @tarunvats33 said.

One of the most headline-grabbing extras that has come to the S26 series is improved Quick Share, which suddenly enables AirDrop capability.
In other words, it will be as simple, quick and seamless to send files wirelessly between iPhones and Android as it currently is between Android phones.

Beyond connectivity, the One UI 8.5 stable build is expected to include significant under-the-hood optimizations. Early reports suggest improved RAM management for multitasking and a new “Ultra Power Saving” mode designed specifically to extend the longevity of the S25’s aging battery cells.
Cross-Platform File Sharing Improvements
