Spain international Salma Paralluelo is set to leave Barcelona as a free agent after rejecting the club’s contract offer.
Paralluelo, 22, will become the latest player to depart Barcelona upon the expiration of her contract this summer, joining Alexia Putellas, Ona Batlle and Mapi Leon in leaving on a free.
The forward has attracted interest from elsewhere and Barcelona have been unable to meet her demands. She is expected to remain in Europe and join another side competing in the Champions League.
Sources briefed on the situation, speaking on the condition of anonymity to protect relationships, said Barcelona had been open to selling Paralluelo in both the summer transfer window of 2025 and the following winter window in January, and this contributed to her unwillingness to extend her stay at the club.
The Spain international moved to Barca from Villarreal in 2022 and has won four league titles and the Champions League on three occasions during her four years at the club.
She scored two late goals in May’s Champions League final as Barcelona beat Lyon 4-0.
Paralluelo has been capped 51 times at international level by Spain since her debut in 2022 and was an import part of the side that won the 2023 World Cup and reached the 2025 European Championship final.
