RAAC Theatre to hold auditions for ‘Almost, Maine’
The Rappahannock Association for Arts and Community (RAAC) will hold additional auditions to fill four male roles in John Cariani’s play “Almost, Maine.”
Director Patty Hardee is seeking actors from their late teens through older adulthood for the romantic comedy.
Set near the Canadian border, “Almost, Maine” takes place in a community too populated to be wilderness but too small to consider itself a town. The play consists of nine interconnected vignettes in which residents come together on a cold, magical midwinter night to experience the often humorous realities of relationships, heartbreak and unexpected connections beneath the aurora borealis.
Auditions for male actors will be held at Washington Town Hall, 485 Gay St., Washington, at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 12, and at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 14. Auditions will consist of readings from the script. Female roles have already been cast.
Rehearsals will begin immediately after casting with a full cast read-through and will continue two or three days a week until tech week, Sept. 27-Oct. 1, when rehearsals will be held nightly.
Performances are scheduled for Oct. 2-4.
For an audition appointment, contact Hardee at pahardee@gmail.com.
