Plasma Mobile is a user interface for mobile Linux distributions that includes a mix of features borrowed from the KDE Plasma desktop environment and mixes in some mobile-specific components designed for smartphones, tablets, and other touchscreen devices.
The latest version brings some key improvements including a more responsive lock screen, some cosmetic home screen enhancements, improved Settings menus, and an easier way to run Android apps on Linux phones.
Among other things, Plasma Mobile 6.5 now:
- Lets you set up and manage Waydroid from the Plasma Mobile Settings app, simplifying the process of creating an environment for running Android apps. You can also toggle a Waydroid container on or off from the Quick Settings men.
- Has a lock screen that loads more quickly and displays notifications properly. There’s also now a double-tap-to-lock feature that lets you lock your phone’s screen without pressing the power button.
- Features more consistent background blur using the Folio or Halcyon home screens.
- Has a dedicated navigation menu in the Settings app, as well as a tutorial for using gesture-based navigation.
- Allows you to adjust the maximum number of quick settings columns (so you can have more on a tablet than you would on a phone, for example).

You can find more new and improved features in the Plasma Mobile 6.5 release announcement and complete changelog.
