GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – A Pitt County man was arrested for accessory after the fact in connection with a Greenville shooting that happened in June.
Tellis Carney Jr. was charged by the Greenville Police Department with accessory after the fact and obstructing justice.
The charges stem from a shooting that happened on June 28th at a home on Sunset Avenue.
20-year-old Nasir Baker, of Iredell County, was charged earlier this month with attempted first-degree murder and other crimes for shooting into the home while two people were inside, warrants say.
One person was injured in that shooting.
Carney is accused of sharing false information with police in the aftermath of the shooting, telling police he did not know the identities of the people who were in a vehicle tied to the shooting.
Carney also told police he did not know who owned the vehicle, but records show he is the owner and had seen people get into the car before the shooting.
The 21-year-old was booked into the Pitt County Jail yesterday under a $500,000 bond.
