North Carolina’s Robeson Community College has introduced a new healthy food option for students and staff with the installation of an a la carte-style refrigerated vending kiosk in one of the buildings on campus, according to a report in the Greater Fayetteville Business Journal.

Designed to provide quick, convenient and nutritious selections, the kiosk offers an accessible solution for those needing a light lunch, a between-class snack or a refreshing beverage during the workday.

The refrigerated unit features a range of fresh items, including fruit, salads, sandwiches, charcuterie selections, beverages and other healthy snacks.

The kiosk is operated by GMac & Co., founded by Chef Gerald McMillan. McMillan began his entrepreneurial career with Mac’s Grill & Catering in Parkton, N.C., where he converted a historic bank building into a restaurant. Known for signature items such as Southern gourmet chicken salad and hickory-smoked pasta salad, McMillan has continued to grow his brand through retail distribution and the expansion of A La Carte refrigerated kiosks.
