New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd has reportedly been critically wounded in a shooting in New York City, per multiple reports. Boyd is in critical but stable condition at Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan, a police spokesperson told ESPN.
Police say that the shooting took place on 38th street in Midtown Manhattan at around 2 a.m. on Sunday morning. The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made, though ABC7 New York reports that police are looking for a man who fled in a blue BMW.

The relationship between the victim and the suspect is unknown at this time, and authorities are unclear on what happened leading up to the shooting.
In a statement shared with multiple outlets, the team says that it is aware of the situation but has no additional comment.
Boyd signed a one-year deal with the Jets this offseason after two years with the Houston Texans. He was placed on injured reserve in August with a shoulder injury.
Jets linebacker Jermaine Johnson II took to social media to share a prayer for Boyd following the shooting.
“Everybody please send prayers to my brother and teammate Kris Boyd and his family!” Johnson wrote.
The Jets are not playing Sunday, having lost to the New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football.
