My iPhone 18 Pro Has One of These Accessories on It at All Times

The iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max are now out in the wild and available to buy in stores. That means you can bring Apple’s big burgundy phone home — though the glacier blue one looks lovely and the black Pro phone gives off mean, cool biker vibes.

But your new iPhone 18 Pro is only as delightful as the accessories you surround it with. Oh, and in case you’re wondering, Apple’s latest Pro phones are the exact same size as last year’s iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max — but the new ones weigh more. That means most cases for Apple’s 2025 Pro phones will work on the 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max.

I’ve been testing the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max for a week, and while features like the variable-aperture camera and larger battery are welcome additions, I’ve found endless delight in trying out various accessories.

From cases and bands to a gamepad and even a keyboard battery pack, here are my favorite accessories for the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max.

Gaming on the go

Mcon game controller

This puppy has reignited my love for gaming. Mcon is a portable magnetic game controller. It folds down pretty small and looks like a medium-sized battery pack when it’s closed and on the back of the iPhone 18 Pro Max. But with a press of a button, it springs to life, pushing the phone out away from you to reveal the buttons and gamepad.

Opening it is satisfyingly similar to the T-Mobile Sidekick — if you know, you know. It’s already killer if that’s all it did. But you can unfold the palm grips, which make it feel more like a full-size console game controller. Since it connects via Bluetooth, you can actually remove the top portion of the Mcon, the part the phone is attached to, and use the mini-kickstand to prop it up on a table as you hold the controller. It’s portable, fun to fidget with, and the joysticks are excellent.

Catch it before it falls

Apple Wrist Band

I’ve been enjoying this trend of new straps and wristbands for phones. Remember last year’s iPhone Pocket, the $230 over-the-shoulder sling that held the iPhone? It was a collaboration between Apple and Issey Miyake. This year, we have something much more reasonable: a $29 wrist strap. It’s made from 100% recycled PET yarns and has embedded flexible magnets to keep it aligned.

I’ve been using the crisp blue one with my glacier iPhone 18 Pro and Apple TechWoven case. But it also comes in burgundy, olive, taupe, magenta and black. As someone who has been doing a lot of photo walks with the 18 Pro, I like using the wrist strap to get it secure and immediately available.

For the big texters

Clicks Power Keyboard

Imagine a MagSafe battery pack that has a slide-out physical keyboard inspired by a BlackBerry phone. I’ve been reviewing smartphones at CNET for over a decade. I type horribly with on-screen keyboards. What I like about the Power Keyboard is that I can attach and unattach it easily — swap out for other magnetic accessories.

The keys are contoured and backlit. I am a huge fan of being able to customize the key for fast shortcuts. If you have an Apple TV box like me, you can use the Power Keyboard with it, too (or even a Vision Pro). The Power Keyboard supports and remembers multiple Bluetooth devices, making it easy to switch between your iPhone, tablet and more.

Keep your wallet safe

Moft Trackable Field Wallet

I’ve been using MagSafe wallets on my iPhone for six years. The Moft trackable field wallet goes well beyond just holding your cards. It has a tiny battery that lets you track it via Apple’s Find My network. It looks gorgeous and is well-made. There are two versions, one with a stand and one without. I prefer the stand so I can prop my iPhone 18 Pro up for video calls, group photos and watching videos. It comes in four colors: misty cove, terracotta, peony and jet black.
