Milton Coffee Co. Expands Into Hospitality With Design-Forward Single-Serve Coffee Platform for Premium Hotels


Milton Coffee Co. is extending its Line1 espresso machine platform into hospitality environments, including hotel and resort settings, as part of its broader product positioning in in-room coffee service.

Milton Coffee Co. developed the Line1 for use in both residential and hospitality settings, with a focus on shared-use coffee preparation. The Line1 is built for shared use settings where ease of operation and repeatable preparation are essential. Guests can prepare espresso or coffee without guesswork, and the machine also includes a dedicated hot water spout that allows hotels to offer in room tea service without the need for a separate electric kettle. The system performs an automatic rinse cycle after each brew, helping address hygiene considerations associated with in-room coffee equipment and reducing maintenance requirements between guest stays.

The platform is built around a stainless steel brew path that replaces the plastic components typically found in capsule machines in the section where water and coffee interact. This improves durability in high frequency use environments while supporting more consistent extraction across compatible capsule formats.

According to the company, the Line1 supports Nespresso OriginalLine capsules alongside specialty capsules from independent roasters. This allows hospitality operators to align their coffee programs with regional partners, sustainability initiatives, or premium sourcing strategies without changing hardware platforms.

As part of its hospitality rollout, Milton Coffee Co. has partnered with Wolstton Coffee, a Madrid based specialty roaster known for its wide range of capsule coffees packed in fully compostable pods. The partnership gives hotels access to higher quality capsule coffee while supporting sustainability initiatives that are increasingly shaping procurement decisions across the hospitality sector.

Milton Coffee Co. developed the Line1 following an evaluation of capsule performance across more than 200 specialty roasters worldwide. That process informed a brewing system designed to maintain stable extraction conditions across a wide range of capsule styles without requiring manual calibration.

Hospitality veteran Sanjiv Hulugalle, who has held senior leadership roles across global luxury hotel groups including Four Seasons and Hilton and now serves as an advisor to Milton Coffee Co., sees the shift as overdue.
