Manchester United executives are exasperated with Barça’s attitude when negotiating Rashford’s transfer
‘”Rashford is running out of time to fulfill his dream of signing permanently for Barcelona,” reports Chris Wheeler, who reminds that Barça has an option to buy Marcus Rashford for just over 30 million euros.’
Manchester United have categorically refused to lower that figure, while according to the “Daily Mail” Barça would only be willing to pay half.
Manchester United is growing tired of Barcelona’s stance in the negotiations for Rashford
The reluctance of F.C. Barcelona to pay the agreed price to sign Rashford permanently is causing problems for Manchester United, which wants to move forward with other deals.
United fear Rashford’s future may not be resolved until after the World Cup, which would seriously hamper the “Red Devils'” transfer business this summer, as well as Michael Carrick‘s plans for next season.
“Manchester United executives are exasperated with Barça’s attitude when it comes to negotiating Rashford’s transfer,” publishes Jeremy Cross in “Mirror”.
The British newspaper maintains that the situation has reached such a point that Manchester United is considering abandoning negotiations with Barcelona and selling Rashford to another team. The problem, however, is that the transfer fee, once agreed with Barça, would be the same as what other clubs would be willing to pay.
Meanwhile, billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe, co-owner of Manchester United, continues to push to get rid of Rashford and his high salary to lighten the wage bill of the Old Trafford club.
The other teams Rashford could sign for are in the Premier League
Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle, Tottenham and Aston Villa could be interested in strengthening their attack with Marcus Rashford, who this season has recorded 14 goals and 14 assists in 49 matches for Barcelona, but Manchester United also do not want to strengthen direct Premier League rivals.
The signing of Antony Gordon, for whom Barcelona have paid Newcastle 70 million, further complicates Rashford’s continuity at “Can Barça”.
