Luka Vušković’s desire to stay at Hamburg is no secret. The Croatian defender enjoyed a breakout campaign but will return to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer when his loan expires.
Speaking to Bild, Vušković was asked his thoughts about leaving HSV. “I’m torn,” the 19-year-old explained. “On one hand, I’m happy because a lot of what was agreed upon with Tottenham has come to fruition in Hamburg. But I’m also sad because I really want to stay here.
“After all, it’s well known that it’s my wish to play for HSV with my brother Mario.
“But in football, you can’t have everything you want.
“From this summer onwards, I’ll be a Tottenham player again.”
Vušković played a crucial role in securing Hamburg’s Bundesliga status, scoring six goals and providing one assist in 28 league appearances for Merlin Polzin’s side, who finished 2025/26 13th.
