The least talked about football is after the derby between Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid, in which the “Colchoneros” won 2:1.
Jose Mourinho already pointed out at a press conference that the home team should have received two red cards in the first half, and Real Madrid also issued a series of statements. On the other hand, Atletico sided with the Spanish referees.
Today, La Liga president Javier Tebas also spoke out, pointing the finger at the royal club.
“Real Madrid is extremely important to La Liga. But to claim that ‘La Liga is worth nothing’ without them only shows contempt for the other clubs, their fans and their history. This competition is no one’s private property.”
The first man in the elite ranks of Spanish football believes that Real Madrid are using referees to divert attention from the field – where they are not shining at the start of the season.
“To claim that the referees were instructed against Real Madrid is to live in another galaxy. That story only serves as an alibi to cover up the shortcomings that are visible to the naked eye in these first games of the season. It is much easier to invent a conspiracy than to explain what is really happening on the pitch.”
Tebas scored at the end and sent a clear message to the people at Real Madrid.
“Take the blindfold off. It’s only September, and they’re already declaring the league irregular. No sane person believes in that eternal alibi anymore,” concluded the La Liga president.
