King Charles III, Queen Camilla to visit Front Royal | News

King Charles III and Queen Camilla of the United Kingdom are expected to visit Front Royal on Thursday, headlining the town’s 250th anniversary of America celebration with a brief parade down Main Street, according to information on the town of Front Royal’s website.

The royals are expected to attend the celebration, which officials in the Shenandoah Valley town describe as a short, ceremonial event rather than a full-day festival. While there is no guarantee attendees will see the royal guests in person, officials are promoting the visit as a historic opportunity tied to the couple’s first trip to the United States as king and queen.

The town is advising attendees to plan ahead for tight conditions along the parade route, noting that space on Main Street will be limited. Officials also emphasized that the event will be brief.

Security measures will be in place, including requirements for bag restrictions, identity verification and pre-event screening. A list of prohibited items is available on the town’s website, and attendees are encouraged to allow extra time to pass through checkpoints.

Due to security concerns, lawn and camping chairs will not be permitted, and only service or guide animals will be allowed. Visitors are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to walk, as road closures and parking restrictions will affect the downtown area. Attendees should expect to park at a distance and walk to designated screening areas before reaching the parade route.

Officials also cautioned that large crowds may lead to limited cellphone service and encouraged attendees to make plans in advance to stay in contact with their groups.

The event will be photographed and recorded, with images expected to be used by the British Embassy, the royal family and members of the media for official and promotional purposes.
