The 2026/27 season will begin on August 23, 2026, and conclude on May 30, 2027. Unlike recent years, it will also feature a Christmas break.
The 2025/26 Serie A season has just concluded with Inter winning the Scudetto for the 21st time in their history, while Cremonese, Pisa, and Verona were relegated to Serie B.
However, a new season is already around the corner, as the fixture list for the upcoming campaign will be unveiled by Lega Serie A on June 5, 2026.
Serie A 2026/27 key dates
Serie A betting markets are already waiting to learn the pathway for each Italian club, allowing an early assessment of what the 2026/27 season could offer. The new campaign will begin on August 23, 2026, and conclude on May 30, 2027.
The only two midweek rounds are scheduled for October 28 and Wednesday, January 6, 2027, while there will be no games on the weekend of December 27. The four international breaks are scheduled for September 27, October 4, November 15, and March 28.
Following recent clashes between Juventus and Torino ultras, Lega Serie A President Ezio Maria Simonelli suggested that the Turin Derby is unlikely to be played in the evening next season.
“I imagine there will be a ban on playing the Turin Derby in the evening next season. It’s an objective matter, which makes me believe that these types of games should be avoided in the final games of the season.”
Clashes between Torino and Juventus ultras led to the postponement of kick-off by one hour on Sunday, while the other four matches scheduled to be played simultaneously went ahead as planned.
To avoid the influence of external factors during the closing stages of the season, Lega Serie A could decide to schedule potentially high-risk derbies only on certain weekends, avoiding the final rounds of the campaign.

Inter won the Serie A title in the 2025/26 season, qualifying for the Champions League alongside Napoli, Roma, and Como. Juventus and Milan qualified for the Europa League, while Atalanta secured a place in the Conference League.
Managerial changes in the 2026-27 Serie A season
Napoli are the only club in the top four set to change coach for next season after Antonio Conte left the Stadio Maradona following a two-year spell.
Cristian Chivu will remain in charge of Inter, while Gian Piero Gasperini and Cesc Fabregas are expected to continue with Roma and Como respectively.

Juventus are also expected to keep Luciano Spalletti despite finishing outside the top four, while Milan will not only replace head coach Massimiliano Allegri, but also restructure their leadership team after dismissing Igli Tare, Giorgio Furlani, and Geoffrey Moncada following a disappointing fifth-place finish in 2025/26.
Atalanta are reportedly expected to appoint Maurizio Sarri, who would reunite with sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli in Bergamo.
