Kepler Cheuvreux hires AXA IM senior equity sales trader for high touch sales role

Kepler Cheuvreux has made expanded its high touch trading sales team with the addition of Leam Conley.

Conley will be based at the firm’s London office in his new role, and is set to support Kepler Cheuvreux’s efforts to build out its UK footprint and client offering.

He will report to Chris Jay, head of sales trading, UK client zone, and steps into the new role effective June 2026.

Speaking to The TRADE, Chris McConville, global head of execution services and trading, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Leam Conley to our firm. Based in our London office, he’ll play a key role in supporting our UK clients, and in accelerating growth in the region, and will join in June.

“Reporting to Chris Jay in London, Conley will work in our high touch sales trading team and brings over 15 years of experience, underscoring the importance of the UK to our broader KCx strategy.”

The move marks a swap from the buy-side to the sell-side for Conley, who joins Kepler Cheuvreux from AXA Investment Managers, where he spent nearly seven years.

Conley initially joined AXA IM as an equity trader in 2019, before stepping into a senior trading position in 2024.

Prior to this, he spent more than three years at Close Brothers as a multi-asset dealer, and began his industry career in a trade support role at RBC Capital Markets, working across global equities and fixed income.

Currently, Kepler Cheuvreux’s KCx team spans 14 financial hubs in Europe and the US across locations including Amsterdam, Brussels, Dubai, and New York.

Conley is the latest addition to KCx’s high touch sales team, following a spate of hires since the beginning of 2026.

Most recently, in April 2026, Sidonie Vasseur joined as a trader on the desk, based in Paris.

Her appointment followed a four-year tenure at UBS, where she served as a cross asset execution trader, working across various different asset classes, including equities, fixed income, FX, ETDs, funds and hedge funds.
