Taiwanese single malt whisky Kavalan has partnered with SipWell Brands to enhance its presence in the UK travel retail sector.

The new partnership is part of Kavalan’s ongoing global expansion and builds on its strategy of collaborating with specialist partners.
Under the new agreement, SipWell Brands will oversee Kavalan’s strategic development in the UK travel retail sector.
The new distribution partner will focus on optimising availability and enhancing engagement with international travellers at key UK airports.
According to YT Lee, chairman of King Car Group, owner of Kavalan single malt, the UK “remains one of the world’s most influential whisky markets”.
Lee believes the partnership will enable the company to “strengthen Kavalan’s presence in key travel hubs” and bring its Taiwanese single malt to a “wider global audience”.
The partnership is said to highlight rising consumer interest in premium whiskies from emerging regions.
Founded in 2005 in Yilan County, Taiwan, Kavalan is known for its subtropical maturation process and extensive selection of casks. The distillery’s house style is characterised by rich tropical fruit flavours.
Andrew Torrance, commercial director at SipWell Brands, said: “Kavalan represents everything that is exciting about the modern whisky category – innovation, exceptional quality, and global relevance.
“As travellers increasingly seek premium and distinctive spirits, we see a significant opportunity to accelerate Kavalan’s growth and presence within the UK travel retail channel.”
Earlier this year, Kavalan appointed Marussia Beverages as its new exclusive distribution partner in the UK.
In other international markets, the single malt brand debuted in Bahrain last month in partnership with Gulf Brands International.
