There are few things l enjoy more in the summer than a really good iced coffee. As we move into warm weather season, I’ve made an important life decision: this year, I will invest in a coffee maker that’ll let me brew my own at home. Not all of today’s best coffee machines can create iced coffees, but there are a handful of really excellent models that excel in this area. These coffee makers achieve their cold brews in slightly different ways, but what none of them do is to cook you up a hot espresso, ask you to pour it over a mug of ice and call it an ‘iced coffee function’. (Come on guys, that’s cheating.)

The Sage / Breville Luxe Brewer Thermal is a drip coffee maker that lets you create a cold brew the traditional way, using grounds steeped in cold water for a full 24 hours. It has the stamp of approval from TechRadar Homes Editor (and certified barista) Cat Ellis, who described the results as “pleasingly rounded and rich, with a sweeter profile than coffee prepared hot” and awarded this machine a full five stars.
