Hulu recently canceled the fan-favorite crime comedy-drama series after two seasons. Following the unexpected cancellation, a new report has revealed why the streaming service made the decision.
The crime comedy-drama series Deli Boys premiered on Hulu on March 6, 2025. Season 2 premiered on May 28, 2026. The first season has 10 episodes, while the second has six. The Hulu show currently has a 98% Tomatometer score and an 86% Popcornmeter score on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite that, Deadline reported that the series was canceled after two seasons because of low viewership.
The report further stated that Deli Boys was a priority for Onyx Collective. In an effort to attract more viewers, Onyx Collective pushed the series to introduce new characters.
The series followed two Pakistani American brothers who were forced to confront their late father’s secret life of crime after his death. The first season became a critical hit, with critics praising its fast-paced story. Critics also praised the chemistry between the two leads, Raj Dar and Mir Dar, played by Saagar Sheikh and Asif Ali, respectively.

Alongside Saagar Sheikh and Asif Ali, the Hulu series featured Poorna Jagannathan as Lucky and Amita Rao as Nandika. The cast also featured Fred Armisen, Alfie Fuller, Brian George, Jake Prizant, Alexandra Ruddy, Shahjehan Khan, Zainne Saleh, Ahmed Lucan, Andrew Rannells, Tim Baltz, among others.
Praising the series, Monique Jones from Common Sense Media added, “This fun series presents viewers with a new perspective on action comedies.” Beverly Hills Courier‘s Newly Swanson wrote, “Swiftly paced, each episode has more jokes that land than not, and it’s a fun, absurd take on characters you rarely see on screen.”
Abdullah Saeed created Deli Boys and also serves as one of the executive producers alongside Michelle Nader, Jenni Konner, Nora Silver, Vali Chandrasekaran, Nisha Ganatra, and Mehar Sethi.
Although the series is canceled, fans can still enjoy the two seasons of the crime comedy-drama series on Hulu.
