A 38-year-old motorcyclist has died after his vehicle crashed into a fallen tree by a road in Hong Kong’s New Territories.
Police said on Sunday that they received a report at 10.32pm the day before that an accident involving a motorcycle had taken place in Tai Po.
The force said the rider was travelling along Yuen Shin Road in the direction of Sha Tin when the incident happened.
“When approaching Tolo Highway, [the motorcycle] reportedly failed to brake in time and crashed into a fallen tree at the roadside,” it added.
The man suffered head injuries and was rushed to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital in Tai Po in an unconscious state. But he was certified dead at 11.29pm.
The New Territories North police headquarters’ special traffic investigation team is following up on the case.
