Korean-American coffee house Haan Coffee announced this week it’s introducing “Unplugged Saturdays” in an effort to swap technology for a little human connection.
Starting Saturday, April 25, Haan will turn off its Wi-Fi and prohibit devices for work and/or study in the space, it said in a social media post shared Thursday.
“As our society becomes increasingly tech-dependent, our aim is to set aside a day solely for human connection and much-needed rest with your loved ones. We will need your participation to make this work, and our ask is that you help by respecting the policy during this trial period,” the post reads.
The announcement was met swiftly with widespread praise, with commenters thanking the team for initiating the change.
“Together, we can continue to make Haan a place to foster community in our city,” the announcement concludes.
Haan opened in early 2023 and quickly became a Colonial Drive favorite offering a cozy space with Korean-inspired coffee beverages, teas, pastries and more treats.
