Gabon Strengthens Digital Partnership With China Following High-Level Talk

The Government of Gabon has announced a renewed commitment to strengthening its digital partnership with China following a high-level meeting held on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting of New Champions in Dalian. The discussions involved Gabon’s Minister of Digital Economy, Digitalization and Innovation  and the Director General of China’s international development cooperation agency,  with both sides reaffirming their willingness to deepen cooperation in the digital and technological sectors.

The meeting focused on expanding bilateral collaboration in areas such as digital transformation, innovation, and strategic technological infrastructure. Officials discussed major global trends in innovation and digital geopolitics, highlighting the importance of international partnerships in advancing national digital development agendas.

Several priority areas were examined during the talks, including improving connectivity, strengthening data sovereignty, and developing infrastructure for hosting critical digital services. The two countries also explored ways to enhance institutional capacity, support sustainable public administration, and accelerate Gabon’s ongoing digital transformation efforts.
