A cyberpunk action thriller just landed a domestic distributor, but not everyone attached to the film is celebrating. Frank Grillo fired back at the project’s marketing on Instagram, while Quiver Distribution prepares for a July digital release.
Cyberpunk action thriller Kill Code finds a domestic studio
Quiver Distribution has picked up the domestic rights to cyberpunk action thriller Kill Code, according to a press release from the studio. Writer/director Justin Price helms the film, which stars Frank Grillo, Tyrese Gibson, Harvey Keitel, and introduces Franzi Schissler.
The deal closed at the Cannes Film Festival, with Voltage Pictures and The Exchange involved in sales efforts. Quiver plans to release the film digitally on July 24, 2026.
Grillo has since responded to the announcement on Instagram, disputing how the film is being marketed. The actor called the promotion “incredibly misleading bordering on bulls—.” He stated that he only filmed one scene in the project. His comments came shortly after multiple outlets reported on the acquisition using his name prominently.
The film takes place in a dystopian future where a powerful corporation has overtaken the traditional prison system. Criminals now serve as the new law enforcers under this regime. Harvey Keitel plays nanoscientist Eion Prescott, who creates a deadly nano-virus distributed through lethal watches. Prisoners infected with the virus must eliminate each other to earn their freedom. Franzi Schissler plays cyber-operative Elera, who discovers a dark truth and ignites a rebellion.
“We wanted to create a film that sits between cyberpunk, survival action, and character-driven sci-fi,” Price said. He also praised Quiver for recognizing the vision behind the project. “Quiver recognized this vision behind Kill Code, the world-building and experience we want to deliver,” the filmmaker added. Price expressed enthusiasm about bringing the film to audiences during the summer.
Kill Code comes from Powell & Price Productions, with Latavius Powell handling production duties alongside Price. Their company remains focused on elevated genre filmmaking across theatrical, digital, and global markets. Entertainment industry veterans Berry Meyerowitz and Jeff Sackman founded Quiver Distribution, which centers on curating talent-driven projects.
