Avengers: Doomsday gets full synopsis as Infinity Vision ticket sales begin
Fandango and Rotten Tomatoes have listed a full synopsis for Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday. The listing also confirms ticket sales for the film’s Infinity Vision premium format. Additionally, it reveals new details about the upcoming crossover event’s scope and scale.
The synopsis reads, “Universes collide and the Multiverse Saga begins its final chapter in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday. Beloved heroes from three distinct universes will be set on a deadly collision course and ultimately face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered. This epic film will lay the foundation for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”
Furthermore, the description promotes the Infinity Vision premium format for the film. It states, “See it in Infinity Vision, the way it’s meant to be seen, on bigger, brighter and more immersive screens.” This marks the first official mention of the format for the December release.
Meanwhile, the synopsis confirms that three separate universes will collide in the film. Previous trailers and casting announcements revealed heroes from the MCU, the Fox X-Men universe, and the Fantastic Four’s Earth-828. The film features Robert Downey Jr. as Victor von Doom, alongside Chris Evans returning as Steve Rogers. Moreover, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, and Joseph Quinn star as the Fantastic Four. Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen also reprise their roles as Professor X and Magneto.
Anthony Russo and Joe Russo direct the film from a screenplay by Stephen McFeely. The film currently runs 165 minutes and arrives in theaters on December 18, 2026. Marvel Studios will follow up with a sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, on December 17, 2027.
