Fans have recently gotten the first look at the title card of the highly anticipated television series Crystal Lake. It is an upcoming prequel to the beloved Friday the 13th horror franchise.
A24‘s Crystal Lake had its world premiere at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, where the first two episodes were screened. The opening credits unveiled the chilling title card of the show. It features a retro-style Friday the 13th font with three-dimensional lettering.
Crystal Lake premieres on Peacock on Thursday, October 15, 2026. All eight episodes of the debut season will arrive on the streamer together.
Crystal Lake brings a new story to the world of Friday the 13th
Developed by Brad Caleb Kane, Crystal Lake serves as a prequel to the iconic 1980 slasher film, Friday the 13th. The series stars Linda Cardellini as Pam Voorhees, a single mother grieving the loss of her young, sickly son Jason, who drowned in the town’s lake almost a year earlier..
When mysterious figures from Pam’s past resurface, her paranoia intensifies. Driven by grief and fear, she is willing to go the distance to protect herself and avenge her son’s death.
The official logline of the series reads, “When two strangers arrive at Pam’s door digging into her past, a disturbing chain of events is set into motion, leaving the townspeople of Crystal Lake wondering: just who is Pam Voorhees?”
In addition to Cardellini, Crystal Lake also stars Callum Vinson as young Jason Voorhees. The cast also includes William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins, Gwendolyn Sundstrom, Nick Cordileone, Joy Suprano, Danielle Kotch, and Phoenix Parnevik.
Brad Caleb Kane executive produced Crystal Lake alongside Marc Toberoff, Victor Miller, Robert M. Barsamian, Robert P. Barsamian, Stuart Manashil, Tyson Bidner, Michael Lennox, and Roy Lee.
